A good start to the season in Larne for Annadale - 9 October 2004
Annadale's unbeaten run in the Larne road relays continued today with victory over Abbey. Paddy Hamilton had the fastest time of the day with 9.30.

Noel pollock was 1st in the 1500m (4.05) and 1st in the 5000m.(14.45) Richard Girvan was 1st in the 400m.(50.58) Full results will follow shortly.

"Hey son you are over striding you will never make it as a runner". Often in our day-to-day lives we make simple observations, some are accurate some not so. In the case of Derek Graham this was terribly inaccurate!

Before I interviewed Derek Graham I was fairly conversant with the pedigree of the man; sub 4-minute miler, Olympic representative, and 2nd in the International Cross Country. However, I came away from the interview privileged to have spent a few hours with an immensely talented and such a natural athlete....

Good run by Annadale in the Les Jones Memorial 9K
The race was won by Dean Fisher of Willowfield in 28.36. Andy campbell finished a close second in 28.47. Mark Wright was 6th in 30.51, Andrew McKee was 8th in 31.25 and Martin Southwood finsihed 11th in 31.47.

The race was won by Simon Tonui (Kenya) 2nd was John Matai (Kenya) and 3rd was Paul Rowan (Willowfield). First for Annadale was Andrew McKee in 23rd followed by Martin Southwood in 33rd.

Annadale Striders Launch new Website
We launched the Annadale Striders website in August 2003. We have been both suprised and encouraged by the number of visits the site has been receiving, so much so that we decided to re-vamp the site. This is the first part of what we hope will develop over the coming months with some new features that will be of interest to all athletes.



Exclusive John Treacy Interview
The Citywest Hotel in Dublin was the venue on Wednesday 31st March for An Evening with John Treacy. Organised by Irish Runner Magazine the event was to commemorate John's World Cross Country victory 25 years ago in Limerick.

Brendan Hackett of the Irish Milers Club welcomed the audience and distinguished guests. Amongst the guests included former athletes, Tom O'Roirdan, Danny McDaid, Ann Keenan-Buckley, Dick Hooper, Paul Maloney and Steve Binns.....more
